Harvesting apples among the rows

Mr. Rossi deals with the cultivation of fruit trees, in particular of apple orchards. In this context, the High-Speed TP1800 tracked pallet jack is used among the rows for the collection and transportation of the apple-containing baskets.

The machine is used during the harvesting of the apples, therefore for a period of about 3 months. In those 3 months, however, the TP1800 is used daily, remaining in operation 8/10 hours a day. It carries up to 4 baskets each containing about 2 quintals of apples, inside and outside the rows of the orchard. During the working period, the TP1800 carries around 14,000/15,000 quintals of apples.

‘The soil where our apple trees grow is a soil of clay and silt that in the cold or rainy periods becomes comparable to a glue; even tractors have difficulty moving, but with our two TP1800, thanks to the tracks and the power, we manage to complete the job’ says Mr. Rossi, who then adds: ‘The rows are about 500 metres long and thanks to the choice of the high-speed model, we have reduced collection times and increased profits.’

Finally, he adds: ‘I remember when, in 2009, I saw the tracked pallet jack at the fair in Gonzaga (MN) and I understood that it was the vehicle for me. To date there is still no comparable vehicle, we are happy with the choice and confirm our trust in Hinowa.’
