Sfiller, which has been a leading company in the field of sandblasting and industrial painting for over 30 years, painted the steel comet in Piazza Bra in Verona by using the Lightlift platform 20.10 Performance IIIS.
Symbol of Veronese Christmas, this comet, which is 70 metres high, 82 metres long and weighs 78 tons, was created by the architect Rinaldo Olivieri in 1984 and every winter before Christmas it is repainted in white to light up the square.

Why did the Municipality of Verona choose the Hinowa aerial platform?

As you can see from the photos, the star painting is to do once it is mounted and some points are really difficult to reach. The tracked aerial platform can be set out exactly below where you are going to work. Thanks to the turret rotation and, above all, the basket rotation, one can easily reach every corner and paint from the tip to the base of each stem.
The 10-meter outreach with 230 kg loading capacity was essential to finish the job within the established time frame and in maximum safety.

In which other operations can the Hinowa platform be used?

Thanks to the excellent features of the machine, the customer can perform numerous types of maintenance work, such as:
  • Cleaning and treating of facades of concrete, stone and marble buildings
  • Wall cleaning and graffiti removal
  • Cleaning with high pressure washing
  • Industrial painting with various types of paint
  • Cleaning and maintenance work in the field of fine arts
  • Sandblasting on extremely delicate surfaces of ancient beams and ceilings
